Course Overview

This workshop engages the participants in a series of experiences, where they take actions, observe others doing so, reflect,

consider what is effective, and actively experiment with different approaches before fine-tuning their own approach to

coaching.

The precise content will vary dependent upon the needs of the group as identified in an agenda-setting session, where they each

decide what their outcomes should be, to suit their respective needs.

Some sessions from previous events include:

• Coach a colleague – identify what works well, and what is less effective, by self-reflection and feedback

• Coach the coach – an “accelerated-learning” group coaching session where each participates and observes others asking

questions of the coach, and the group reviews which are the effective questions

• How farmers listen – a fun session with a memorable acronym that aids perceptive listening

• Structuring your coaching conversation – discussion of a simple model, practice & review

• Practice coaching-style feedback – a session including impact and root cause questions, and perceptive listening

• Create a checklist for a coaching conversation - incorporating all learnt

• Review agenda - created at outset, and agree next steps to take all the learning into their role
