The IF2 module is relevant to anyone working for an insurance company, broker or reinsurer. IF2 is often selected as the first optional module prior to studying one which is more specific to an individual job role. The qualification can be undertaken by apprentices, new or experienced employees.
The key learning outcomes include motor, health, package and property insurance, pecuniary and liability insurances alongside underwriting, policy wordings, claims handling and settlement and customer service.
The IF2 module is optional for the CII level 3 Certificate in Insurance. It provides a broad knowledge of the main classes of insurance, together with an overview of the function of underwriting, policy wording, claims handling and customer service. Although an optional model, this is selected by most learners and their employers as offering a wide level of product and practice knowledge to supplement the legal and regulatory teaching of IF1.
