“Critical to our EPA implementation strategy is having EPA partners who are reactive, high quality and most importantly maintain regular communication with us! DSW has achieved all of this and more to date, and we are delighted with the relationship we have developed.”
Explains, Karen Kenny, Head of Apprenticeship Delivery for the college
The Doran Scott Williams (DSW) team initially spoke to Apprenticeships at Salford City College in September 2018; in order establish the most appropriate person to send a copy of our end point assessment (EPA) brochure.
Correspondence, dialogue and meetings followed, and a face to face meeting was held at the college in which senior members of the DSW team along with the college’s Apprenticeship SLT were in attendance.
This meeting was in June 2018 and since then the relationship has gone from strength to strength.
As part of the college’s Apprenticeship programmes, Financial Services Standards are offered. The college was interested in DSW as an End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) for these standards due to the level of expertise and knowledge in the Financial Services sector.
DSW ensured that the college was fully aware of the support and materials available to help them, so that their apprentices and employers were prepared and fully ready for gateway.
We also provided dedicated Account Management via Adrian Cousins-Cuckson.
He has regular touch points and site visits, and when necessary he is on hand to help the Training Assessors and Management Training Associates understand the various components of EPA.
Due to his hands-on industry experience, he is also a great ‘go to’ for any queries about EPAs, apprenticeship processes, gateway and financial services as a whole.
Together, DSW and Apprenticeships at Salford City College have an excellent partnership relationship.
Our Account Management team is in regular contact with all key decision makers in the college.
As the partnership and support for the college has grown, DSW now provides EPA for Business Administration and Management Standards as well as those available in Financial Services.
DSW works closely with the team, to ensure the partnership continues to grow and develop with the ultimate goal being; the success of the apprentices.
Adrian Cousins-Cuckson of DSW said:
“We have a fantastic working relationship with Karen and her team at Apprenticeships Salford City College, we all know we can be frank and candid to ensure we get things right first time, but also deal with any challenges efficiently along the way through great communication.”
“We all put the apprentice and their journey first.”
