Doran Scott Williams (DSW), an Ofqual accredited Awarding Body and leading management, training and end-point assessment consultancy has recently celebrated a very special milestone!
The family owned organisation based near Doncaster, celebrated its 21st birthday on 08 July, prompting a deluge of congratulatory messages across all social media platforms in recognition of DSW’s industry leading approach and its position of being the UK’s fastest growing End-Point Assessment organisation; currently working with over 1400 employers across all industry sectors.
Formed by Patrick Doran and Steve Williams in 1999, the journey from humble beginnings to its current position has seen the company overcome many setbacks and challenges to establish itself as a trusted partner of many FTSE 350 and public sector organisations.
The Company’s fulfilment model comprises of its internal team of learning and development experts, complemented by more than 850 Associates and carefully selected strategic partners. This agile operational approach ensures capacity and scale to deliver its services throughout the UK and central Europe.
Patrick Doran, managing director and founder of DSW explains: “We are incredibly proud of reaching this milestone and extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has represented the DSW family business since our inception. I would like to pay homage to my co-founder Steve Williams who was tragically taken from us in 2008, but whose influence remains firmly etched upon our approach to this day. We’ve faced many challenges in establishing ourselves to compete with large corporate institutions and in coping with several economic downturns, most notably the financial markets crash in 2008 and the current Covid-19 pandemic, but we have proven to be resilient and adapted our services to continually meet the evolving needs of the learning sector.”
The company is financially strong and is poised for an even brighter future, with its order book increasing in value daily and its breadth of services and way of working resulting in a consistent stream of new client relationships.
DSW is actively recruiting to expand its in-house team to cope with increased demand for its services, with end-point assessment being at the forefront of this surge. It is also investing in the development of new service offerings with exciting news of a DSW Training Academy coming soon.
As part of the company’s celebrations, it will host a charitable event next year with the team, associates, clients and stakeholders invited. This links to the theme of “giving something back” which has seen the company launch a scheme where each member of the team will take time off to undertake volunteer work for charities of their choice within the local and regional communities.
Patrick Doran concludes: “Whilst the current economic position is undoubtedly challenging, DSW is set for an exciting and buoyant future as we have all of the right ingredients in place. Our end-point assessment service line enjoys c60% of market share for Financial Services Standards and is growing across all other sectors too. Our consultancy, training and resourcing services will re-emerge to become stronger as we adapt to more innovative, digital forms of delivery which have been necessary to combat the covid-19 situation and influence the new ‘norm’ going forward. I’m privileged to be surrounded by a highly talented team, who are committed to our values and ways of working and am confident that this team will contribute to DSW enjoying great success as we embark upon the next 21 years.”
