"For me it is not only important to get it right personally by selecting the right Associates with the right skills, but it is professionally satisfying to know you have contributed to something bigger and have been part of that client’s journey.”

                   - Indy Singh, Resourcing & Deployment Manager

In a world where AI, chatbots and automation are commonplace, we still like to make sure our clients, Associates and friends know there is a real person there at the end of the phone or an email when they need them.

With this in mind, we have put together a series of ‘Introducing…’ posts, to help you get to know the people, names and faces which make DSW such a great place to work.

In this post we will be shining the spotlight on Indy Singh, our Resourcing & Deployment Manager. Although he only recently joined us from Interaction Recruitment, he has quickly gotten to know our friends, partners and Associates, taking over from Rob Hattersley who spent 10 years cultivating DSW’s reputation as a specialist Financial Services resourcing firm.

Indy’s role here at DSW is to find and onboard new Associates, assess their skills, understand the client’s needs, and match the right people with the right attributes to each requirement.

In his own words, Indy is a people person, but far too modest to mention his stellar Recruitment and Resourcing background that spans an enviable list of Financial Services and Insurance firms.

He has already earned the everyone’s affections here after bringing in the best bhajis anyone at DSW had ever tasted. As everyone in the office loves a treat, he was always going to fit in with the team!

Explain a bit about your role and what you do at DSW:

“My role is people focused. For me, everything we do is about putting people first.

“We are responsible for people’s income and making sure we find them work, so I feel very responsible for our Associates and take pride in finding them new projects.

“For me it’s really important to make sure that the Associates we pick for a particular project deliver a great learning experience.

“We want to make sure we contribute to the Delegates’ learning and development.

"For me it is not only important to get it right personally by selecting the right Associates with the right skills, but it is professionally satisfying to know you have contributed to something bigger and have been part of that client’s journey.”

What did you think when you joined DSW?

“There was a concern with Rob leaving that the Associates might think ‘who’s this new guy?’ ‘is he going to know what’s going on?’

“I speak to Rob nearly every day. He’s such a lovely person and a true gentleman. He explained to me how it all works before he left – he had a lot of knowledge about people’s families and who they are. I really want to keep that going.

“A lot of our Associates are loyal to DSW. They like us and are valued. They’re really talented and we have a lot of Associates on our database. It’s nice to keep in touch and show them that loyalty back.”

What do you like about DSW?

“I love DSW’s values. I love the way do business because we are loyal to our values.

“We’re very flexible. It’s not totally corporate. We change our approach to suit the client.

“Everyone is part of the development here and everyone is on the same journey. It has a great culture.

“Everyone has their own little business here within the business because they are all subject matter experts. You manage it and own it, so you put the extra effort in and go the extra mile.”
